The combined tennis tournament of Rosmalen is canceled for the second year in a row. The organization took the decision in consultation with the tennis associations ATP and WTA because under the current circumstances “a full-fledged tournament would be impossible”.
Not only all measures regarding the corona virus have a negative impact on the tournament. “The decision of Roland Garros to postpone for a week (and therefore overlaps with Rosmalen) also has a major impact on the event,” said director Marcel Hunze.
“With the current measures in force in the Netherlands, it is impossible to welcome spectators and hospitality guests, an essential part of the tournament’s success,” said Hunze.
The event would take place from June 5 to 13 this year. Kiki Bertens and Daniil Medvedev were committed by the organization.
In 2019, Alison Riske and Adrian Mannarino were the last winners in Rosmalen. Riske defeated Kiki Bertens in the women’s final, who left five match points unused.
