The American company Honeywell will launch a smart mouth mask on Thursday. The cap has, among other things, three fans and built-in headphones, reports The New York Times.
The mouth mask was developed by Honeywell in collaboration with the American rapper Will.I.Am. He wore a hip variant of a gas mask during the MTV VMAs in 2020, which eventually served as the prototype for the hood.
Marc Benioff, the big boss of the American tech company Salesforce, saw this and then contacted Will.I.A to further develop the mask. The smart face mask was in production for a year before it is finally launched by Honeywell.
The mask is made of silicone, has three built-in fans, sound-absorbing headphones, LED lights, a rechargeable battery and a bluetooth 5.0 connection. In addition, the mask can be worn without fogging up your glasses.
The mouth mask, called Xupermask, was designed by Jose Fernandez, who created costumes for the films Black Panther, The Avengers and X-Men 2. The smart mask costs 299 dollars (about 250 euros).
“We developed Xupermask to change the ‘new normal’. Wearing a face mask has become so common that we wanted to take it to the next level. So with all the technical gadgets we need today. This smart mask is not only technically advanced, but also looks fashionable “, says Will.I.Am.
