Even more countries receive adjusted travel advice: from orange to yellow

From tomorrow, the Dutch can go on holiday to Luxembourg, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and a large part of Norway. The travel advice for these countries then changes from orange to yellow because the corona figures are falling, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.

Also Germany, Italy and Austria code yellow

Yesterday it became clear that Germany, Italy and Austria will also receive code yellow again. This means that non-essential travel is allowed again, that no corona test is necessary after return and people do not have to quarantine. The ministry does advise to keep a close eye on the situation during the holiday, because the travel advice can also change to orange again. In ‘yellow’ countries, corona restrictions may also apply, which may differ per country or region.

Most countries in the world are still on orange. The Caribbean islands of Saba and St. Eustatius are the only ones with green light. Code yellow now applies to Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Finland, Malta, Portugal, Greek islands, Ireland and Iceland. For all countries, look here.

Travel advice

Travel advice from the Dutch government is very important, but what also matters is which countries allow foreign tourists in at all. For example, it turned out yesterday that Morocco will soon open to travelers after months of being closed. You can also go to France again from today, and from Monday you were welcome in Spain. But then you must be fully vaccinated, or be able to show a test.

However, the travel advice for those countries is still orange. According to the Dutch government, it is therefore not a good idea to celebrate your holiday there. When you come back you will have to test and quarantine. But that quarantine, there is a lot to do in politics. For example, outgoing care minister Hugo de Jonge received a lot of criticism from left-wing parties and D66 about how the quarantine obligation is maintained.
