GoDaddy under fire for fake phishing email promising bonus | NOW

Web hosting company GoDaddy has come under fire in the United States for a fake phishing email to its staff. In the email, employees were promised a bonus, while earlier in the year it became clear that it was not there due to the corona pandemic.

“Happy holidays! 2020 was a record year for us, thanks in part to your work. Although we cannot celebrate it together during our annual party, we still want to thank you with a one-off bonus of 650 dollars (530 euros, ed.)”, Says to read in the mail, which NBC faced.

GoDaddy hoped to use the fake email to warn its staff. Employees of large companies are often the target of hackers and malicious parties.
