The Glory 76 kickboxing event, to be held on November 7, has been postponed. Badr Hari, who would take on the Romanian Benjamin Adegbuyi in Rotterdam, has tested positive for the corona virus.
Hari is currently at home and is recovering well under the circumstances, according to martial arts organization Glory. “It sucks. Badr was in full training on his way to the ring,” said Vice Chairman Scott Rudmann.
“We cannot risk the health of the fourteen athletes and their teams that would participate, nor that of the employees who would produce the event.”
Last game was against Verhoeven
The organization says it wants to come up with a new date as soon as possible. It would mean his return to the ring for Hari, after he had to give up injured against Rico Verhoeven in the Gelredome stadium at the end of 2019.
“Despite the fact that we strictly adhered to the measures, this could still happen. It shows how seriously we have to take the virus,” said 35-year-old Hari.
