Kris Jenner, the mother of Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, among others, seems to be following in the footsteps of her daughters and wants to start her own beauty brand, reports the American newspaper. The New York Post.
The 65-year-old reality star is said to have filed patent applications for the names Kris Jenner Skincare, Kris Jenner Beauty and Kris Jenner Skin. The newspaper was able to find out at the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). She filed documents for a wide variety of products from shampoo and conditioner to nail polish to false eyelashes.
It is Kris Jenner’s first fashion brand, but not the first in the Kardashian-Jenner family. Kardashian founded her own fashion company with KKW in 2017. Meanwhile, that is worth $ 1 billion (822 million euros) and Burberry mother Coty owns 20 percent of the shares. Kardashian got $ 200 million for the deal.
Half-sister Kylie Jenner started her beauty brand Kylie Cosmetics in 2014 and got $ 600 million in 2019 to sell 51 percent of the shares to the same Coty.
Kris Jenner will therefore be able to count on a lot of competition from her own daughters, but it doesn’t stop there. A lot of stars, including Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna, have their own fashion companies and also Caitlyn Jenner, Kris’s other daughter, once came up with the idea of starting a business. The latter eventually fell through because there were too many similarities with sister Kylie’s brand.
