In a disappointing match, sc Heerenveen and FC Utrecht did not get further than a goalless draw. Both teams were not able to show much exciting on Frisian soil.
The game started rather messy and both teams kept scanning. This meant that little was created for rest. Utrecht, which is sixth in the premier league with five points less than Feyenoord, had the best chance. Midfielder Sander van de Streek hit the post just before the end of the first half.
After the break, the game in Friesland became slightly better, partly thanks to the return of Henk and Joey Veerman, who have both just recovered from the corona virus. Heerenveen started playing less defensively, which resulted in a number of opportunities.
Ten minutes before the end, Heerenveen striker Mitchell van Bergen had the opening goal on the shoe, but he shot goalkeeper Eric Oelschlägel. Substitute Benjamin Nygren still hit on behalf of the home team, but the attacker was whistled back.
