Vitesse stays ahead of Feyenoord by late victory over heavily damaged PEC

Vitesse remains fourth in the premier league for the time being. Thanks to a hard-fought victory over the battered PEC Zwolle (2-1), the Arnhemmers remain ahead of the rankings with three games to go.

On a pass from Oussama Tannane, substitute Idrissa Touré headed in the winning goal well into extra time, after which Thomas Lam mowed the ball with a big chance of the equalizer.

The game was closed for a long time, after the corona-ravaged PEC was suddenly leveled by a shot by Jesper Drost that changed direction. The visitors seemed to hold their own and were only shocked when Oussama Darfalou hit the bar hard from the ground on behalf of the home club.

Debut Van den Berg

Vitesse had previously failed to distance themselves. Halfway the score was only 1-0, thanks to a good run by Armando Broja after a through ball from Thomas Bruns. Defender Rav van den Berg immediately experienced in his first match in the premier division how the big men are doing.
